If this beautiful cabin is available book it! It was a magical and peaceful stay for us and our two little kids. This cabin is close enough to do all the major attractions in South Dakota. We spent five days and we never wanted to leave. The porch was the best, all we heard were birds and the babbling brook. We look forward to coming back and hopefully staying here again soon.

Staying at Destiny was the best experience we could ever imagine. While the location in the Black Hills next to Deadwood and all the major sightseeing is lovely, the cabin took our breath away- or more correctly, it made us breathe deeper, with intention and relaxation. The home was immaculate, and the large porch was our living room. We stayed six nights, and the last two days, we explored the large property. Sitting by the creek, toes in the water, and listening to the birds chirping was transformative. We are also glad we discovered the gold mine after searching for days. Dan is a wonderful host and most responsive. The kitchen was well stocked, and we often ate at home. This cabin is a rare find, and we will make sure to be back again soon.

A beautiful cabin with amazing views of nature. Close enough to Deadwood but far enough out to be secluded. We saw so many deer when sitting on the porch and our daily walks were magical. The cabin has everything you need, it truly is a beautiful place!

This cabin and property is gorgeous! If you are coming to this area don’t pass this one up! The cabin is clean, a great size and the porch is so wonderful for enjoying a morning coffee or evening beer.

Wonderful House – Close to Deadwood
We loved everything about this house. House is exactly as described and has everything you will need. Close to Deadwood but in a lovely secluded section just outside of town. Owner was great with communication. Would highly recommend this house for a stay in Deadwood

2nd Time Staying at this Beautiful Cabin
This was our second time here and it did not disappoint. We brought our dog and another couple and everyone enjoyed themselves. We loved hanging out on the porch at night around the fire. The closeness to town is a huge bonus. This cabin has most of the necessities needed for making meals with the exception of cookie sheets but we bought some disposable ones for homemade pizzas. We saw plenty of deer while we were there and took several walks on the property. It is definitely one of our favorite VRBO’s so far. We will come back again!

Can’t say enough great things about this place. Beautiful home, very private location despite being so close to Deadwood, and our dog was welcomed, which we can’t appreciate enough. If I could give it 10 stars I would, we absolutely loved our stay. Thanks a ton Dan for letting us stay in your wonderful fortress of solitude.

Short getaway
We only had a few days, but couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. We loved everything about the house and area. It was so nice to sit outside and listen to the creek, very relaxing! The kids and the dog had a lot of fun down in the creek also.

It’s really hard to describe how beautiful and perfect this home and property is. Clean, beautiful, comfy just doesn’t do it justice. We had so much fun hiking around this property, playing in the stream ( the dog was in heaven !) and evenings on that porch. I would 100% pick this home and location again. LOVED IT! Peace and beauty in the Blackhills
Absolutely beautiful setting with a luxury cabin. This place is phenomenal. We visited with our family of 4 and two small dogs. Kids and dogs loved the creek. The adults loved the deck and views. The cabin is very comfortable and well appointed. We’ll definitely be back.

We had an amazing time at the destiny cabin! The location was amazing, secluded but still close enough to lead and deadwood. The stream was so relaxing to listen to from the deck and we explored it a bit which was fun for everyone. Dan was a great host and was responsive and helpful. We are so grateful that he shared his beautiful cabin with us. Anyone looking for an amazing place to stay with no neighbors in sight (unless you count the deer strolling by) should absolutely book this one!

Best cabin ever!
This is hands down the best property I have ever booked for my family. The house was beautiful and conveniently located close to Deadwood. The secluded location and scenery was great. My daughters loved playing in the creek! There is so much to do in the area that we could not get to it all so we plan to be back in a couple years!

Black Hills Birthday Getaway!
We planned a nice relaxing weekend in the Black Hills to getaway, unplug, recharge, & celebrate my birthday. Our stay at the Destiny cabin exceeded all expectations! I fell in love with the property while looking at the pictures online and it was everything it claimed and so much more! They weren’t kidding when they said the porch of the cabin will give you a whole new perspective on life! This was my favorite place to start and end the day relaxing peacefully on the deck and listening to the babbling creek below. It truly is magical! The cabin is located in a very private serene setting while remaining a short drive from all the attractions, restaurants, & night life the Black Hills has to offer. Within ten minutes you can be dining at your favorite steakhouse for an extraordinary dinner and in no time be right back on the Destiny porch unwinding with a glass of wine. The cabin pays homage to the local history of old west characters with it’s eclectic blend of antiques and furnishings. It comes well stocked and has everything you need and more, which makes it difficult to ever want to leave! We immensely enjoyed our time here & look forward to returning very soon! This place was perfect for 2 couples. Everything was great. A very quiet, remote place. Make sure you have 4 wheel drive when snow is expected. I would love to stay there in the summer and do some hiking in the area.

We have rented many properties and this one by far is the best place we have ever stayed. Besides the property and house being gorgeous the owner has not missed a detail with the decorations and amenities. Going into an unfamiliar property this owner has labeled instructions on how everything operates.It is highly secluded and quiet yet close to town. We are already planning a return next year!!!

Host was very willing to answer all of our questions and booking the vacation rental property was very easy. We had a great stay enjoying the beautiful cabin and the surrounding property! Very relaxing sitting on the deck and watching the wildlife. What a great getaway secluded yet so close to Deadwood and attractions. Great place to stay and wonderful host.

This was our second time at Destiny, and it was just what we expected and hoped for. The combination of serene and rustic surroundings with a luxurious and cozy cabin is spectacular. Dan has improved and added amenities to the house since last year, one being the fireplace on the porch, which we used daily when the heat of the day gave way to a chilly evening in September. Dan has many exciting books about the area and helpful recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants. We spent many hours reading about the Gold Rush, American history, and the development of Deadwood and surrounding areas. Then, we explored the gold mine on-site; it was a perfect vacation. Thank you, Dan!

We spent the last 4 days of our great American stay at Dan’s with one goal: to rest. The place is perfect for this, a very large house, very well equipped and very comfortable all in the middle of the trees, with the sound of the river below. The terrace is in the sun all morning, and the house is very bright. Deadwood is super easily accessible and we loved one of our restaurants there: Jack’s Fine Dining. There is a large organic grocery store full of fruit and vegetables in Spearfish, nearby too (beautiful canyon road) Remember to check the kitchen cabinets before going to do your shopping, they are very provided and this will save you from buying the 5th pot of mustard! An ideal stay, in the middle of a beautiful preserved place. Recommended without hesitation.

The property was fantastic and we loved exploring the creek…we even found some wild strawberries and raspberries! The cabin’s close proximity to Deadwood, Spearfish, and Sturgis make this place an excellent stepping off point for adventuring. Dan’s place was nothing short of amazing! The location was excellent as we were easily able to get to Deadwood, Sturgis and other surrounding places we wanted to visit. The home was so cozy and stocked with everything we needed. We loved exploring the property and our pups loved playing in the water. There’s a beautiful deck where you can sit out and watch the wild deer and turkeys walk around the property in the evening. Last but certainly not least, Dan was very helpful and detailed about how we find the property and where things were in the home. We would 100% stay here again this was a perfect vacation for us!

It was the perfect size, and very clean cabin for our little anniversary vacation! The fact that it was pet-friendly, made it even better! Your home is truly a gem is the woods. The location is in the heart of the Black Hill and very convenient to every attraction in the area. We loved the house, the view, the location and the decor.
